Kenmare River Cottages are located 16km from Kenmare Town, along the Beara Peninsula before Tuosist, private and peaceful.
From Kenmare Town:
Proceed out of Kenmare on N71 in direction of CASTLETOWN BEARE/GLENGARIFF/BANTRY. Leaving town you cross Kenmare River over an iron suspension bridge. IMMEDIATELY after bridge, turn RIGHT R571 for Castletown Beare.
After 20 mins (10 miles) look out for white painted pub on your right – THE LAKE HOUSE. Cloonee Lakes to your left. Follow main road –you should spot a brown Kenmare River Holiday Homes sign at the minor road to your right just past the pub that directs you to remain on the main road.
After 1/2 mile you will come to a cross-roads with a house on the corner across to your right and a number of signs including one to the holiday homes. TURN RIGHT HERE
Proceed past the school on your right, the Post Office 1/4 mile further along on your left and go straight ahead at the cross roads immediately adjacent to the post office. In one mile you will see the sea and Kenmare River Holiday Homes sign board showing house locations.
Fly/Drive Shannon Airport:Drive from Shannon Airport to Limerick, take the N20 and N21 through Newcastle West, Abbeyfeale and Castleisland to Killarney. Reach Kenmare via the N71. The journey by car is an estimated 3 hours.
Fly/Drive Kerry Airport (Fastest!):From the airport, head towards Killarney via the N71. Reach Kenmare via the N71. The journey by car is an estimated 1 hour.
Fly/Drive Cork Airport:From Cork Airport, begin by heading towards Cork but then take the 1st roundabout and turn off towards Killarney via the sign for the N22. Pass through Macroom and Ballymageery and then take the Kenmare juntion (Do not continue to Killarney). Pass through Killgarvan before reaching Kenmare. The journey by car is an estimated 1 3/4 hours. |
